About Melissa
Welcome to my website – I’m so happy you’re here!
I’m in the process of adding some fun new content – so for now here’s a little bit to read about me while my 2016 car selfie gazes back at you.
I started studying fashion & textile design at Mississippi State University a long time ago (all play no work), got an undergrad graphic design degree at the Art Institute (all work no play), and eventually got a Master’s degree from Arizona State to round it all off. In and around all those years of formal education I worked (in no particular order) for about a decade as a font designer, did some product design in both the industrial design and digital product design spaces, had three different corporate design management gigs, and did many other cool and random designery things like packaging design, a lot of website design, social media ad design & strategy, marketing of course, and I even wrote a little bit of code. Just a little.
I am currently a UX design practice manager at Insight Enterprises and also teach in the GIT program at Arizona State University. You can check out my current and upcoming classes here. Outside of work, I’m very much embracing my inner french speaking garment sewist. Parlons de tissu et des patrons de couture !
